MEET THE EXPERT

Amy Berg

Founder & Lead Strategist, LaunchPad Consulting

Too much good work never gets funded. Too many brilliant ideas die in the gap between vision and resources. Amy built a career closing that gap.

With 25+ years dedicated to nonprofit and small business strategy, federal funding, and watching how institutions handle transformational technology, Amy founded LaunchPad Consulting to close the critical funding and strategy gap facing mission-driven organizations and deep-tech founders. Her expertise spans the full spectrum of non-dilutive capital: foundation and corporate grants, federal programs, and the highly competitive SBIR/STTR landscape for Biotech and AI companies.

Amy's interest in AI is not recent. Her doctoral studies at George Mason University in developmental psychology focused on Vygotsky's framework of scaffolded learning. That research, combined with graduate-level AI training at Harvard and computer science coursework at MIT, gives her a grounding in the field that goes well beyond the current hype cycle. It also led to After Scarcity, her ongoing project on what cooperation-first AI could mean for the future.

In practice, Amy brings this thinking into every client engagement. Grant writing, at its core, is an argument about value — why this work matters, why this team can deliver it, and why the world will be better for it. Getting that argument right requires both analytical precision and genuine belief that the work is worth fighting for. Amy brings both.
